Chapter 5
Vignette
Sexting
1.) Does sexting represent a form of expression that is protected by the First amendment?
Ans:
On my own opinion it could be possible because First amendment was directing of a freedom of expressions, so teenagers could have been given a chance of having sexting to each other. Unless if that First amendment they had was a limited.
2.) What can be done to protect people from the dangers of sexting while still safeguarding our First Amendment rights?
Ans:
First amendment is fit to us being a democratic country so we should exercise a freedom of expression each of us because it is the most important rights for free people everywhere. But being free has a limitation and that includes sexting against each other. So to protect people from the dangers of sexting limitations of freedom should be right to exercise.
Case Study
3.) The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF)
1.) Visit the EFF Web site at http://www.eff.org/ and develop a list of its current “hot” issues. Research one EFF issue that interests you, and write a brief paper summarizing EFF’s position. Discuss whether you support this position and why.
Ans:
2.) What reasons might a firm give for joining and supporting EFF?
Ans:
A certain individual or a thing has always a reason that resides to them before taking a move. So the firm has own reasons why they joined and supporting EFF, it may be they want that their firm would remain known to the public or they want that their firm would remain strong and protected because EFF goal was to protect civil liberties relating to the use of technology, including free speech, privacy, innovation, and consumer rights.
3.) The vice president of public affairs for your midsized telecommunications equipment company has suggested that the firm donate $10,000 in equipment and services to EFF and become a corporate sponsor. The CFO has asked if you, the CIO, support this action. What would you say?
Ans:
If I were the CIO I would go support this action after all it would be a small amount if my company got busted worldwide and the change of it the EFF would protect our company as a consumer.
